About The Position

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures needed to provide care, comfort, and safety for patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center. The role is based at Froedtert West Bend Hospital in West Bend, Wisconsin, and is scheduled for 36 standard hours per week on third shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., with holiday and weekend rotations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Incumbents employed with Froedtert Health before October 1, 2007 may substitute the stated ability to read, write, and communicate complicated verbal and written communications at a level normally acquired through high school completion.
• One of the following is required: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician License, certified Medical Assistant (or 3 years of experience in lieu of Medical Assistant Certification), or State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, must be completed within 30 days.
