About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person who works in the Emergency Unit at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, the technician assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The position is full-time and scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current EMT certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, if required by the state.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
