About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician/Health Unit Coordinator/Admission Clerk works under the direction of a registered nurse as part of the health care team, assisting with patient care activities. The role directly or indirectly impacts patient outcomes and the care provided to customers.
Requirements
- High school completion or GED.
- Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS/Responder certification is required before completion of orientation.
- No prior job-related work experience is required.
- Successful completion of at least one of the following: prior STNA or CNA training; Patient Care Technician/Assistant training; direct patient care experience within the last five years performing vital signs and direct care activities such as bathing, turning/positioning, and toileting; current nursing-school enrollment with at least one clinical rotation completed; or EMT-Basic certification.
- Candidates with prior direct patient care experience may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) after successful skills validation, in lieu of the listed training or experience requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with medical terminology.
