About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician/Health Unit Coordinator/Admission Clerk works under the direction of a registered nurse as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. The role directly and indirectly impacts patient outcomes and the care provided to customers.

Requirements

• High school completion or GED.
• Current HealthCare Provider or Professional Rescuer BLS/Responder certification is required before completion of orientation.
• No prior job-related work experience is required.
• Successful completion of at least one of the following: previous STNA or CNA training; Patient Care Technician/Assistant training; direct patient care experience within the last five years performing fundamental vital-sign skills and direct care activities such as bathing, turning/positioning, or toileting; currently enrolled in nursing school with at least one clinical rotation completed; or EMT-Basic certification.
• Candidates with previous direct patient care experience may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) after successful skills validation, in lieu of the listed training or experience requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology experience.
