About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Dental Assistant at Vandenberg Space Force in Santa Barbara County, California. The position is in an outpatient clinic and is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week W-2 employee role. The schedule has no nights, weekends, or holidays. The role offers a stable patient population. Candidates must meet one of the listed education, certification, or experience pathways, including the required recent experience, and must have at least two years of prior dental clinic experience. Required training must include specified radiation and radiographic subjects.
Requirements
- All training must have included coursework in radiation physics; radiation biology; radiation health, safety, and protection; X-ray films and radiographic film quality; radiographic techniques; darkroom and processing techniques; film mounting; and digital radiographic processing techniques.
- Successful completion of one of the following pathways: a CODA-accredited ADA dental assistant/technician certificate or associate degree and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; 36 months of experience within the preceding 48 months as a dental assistant in a private practice or military clinic; or good-standing membership in the American Association of Dental Assistants with required continuing education and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months.
- At least two years of prior dental clinic experience.
- Basic Life Support certification.
