About The Position

St. John Smiles, part of Areo Dental Group, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and team in delivering exceptional patient care. The role includes chairside assistance, taking digital X-rays and intraoral photos, documenting patient history, maintaining clinical areas, following sterilization protocols, managing room supplies and inventory, and helping the practice stay on schedule. The assistant is expected to contribute to a positive patient experience and work collaboratively in a supportive, growth-oriented practice. Training and continuing education are provided, with opportunities to develop skills and grow professionally.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dental terminology.
• Experience in chairside assisting.
• Ability to take impressions and temporary crowns.
• Comfort taking X-rays.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• A humble, eager-to-learn attitude.

Responsibilities

• Take digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
• Document medical and dental history according to the dentist’s instructions.
• Assist the dentist during procedures and help ensure they run smoothly.
• Maintain clean and organized clinical areas.
• Follow sterilization protocols in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Restock rooms, track inventory, and assist with placing orders.
• Help keep the team on schedule and ensure patients are seated on time.
• Provide a positive patient experience that encourages favorable reviews.
