About The Position
The Customer Service Representative works as part of a supportive team and serves as a customer-facing representative of U-Haul. The role helps customers with U-Haul products and services, manages equipment rentals and returns using smartphone-based technology, and inspects and maintains equipment. On-the-job education is offered, including ongoing education through U-Haul University and certification opportunities for propane filling and forklift operation. The posting advertises paid hands-on working interviews, a $100 hiring bonus, and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of the specified equipment inspection and verification certification program at retail stores. The position is located at 1903 Sparkman Dr NW, Huntsville, Alabama 35816. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts and may require protective clothing or gear. Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
- In Alabama, applicants who use nicotine products are not eligible for hire or rehire, according to the posting.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services.
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory.
- Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers.
- Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
- Answer customers’ questions and educate them about products and services.
- Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
- Drive a forklift; certification is offered through U-Haul upon employment.
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
