About The Position
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the safety of guests, staff, and the physical plant at the United Center / Guaranteed Rate Field. This is a part-time position requiring availability during evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fire Department experience.
- Excellent speaking skills.
- Superb customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and maintain the safety of guests, staff, and the physical plant.
- Communicate Standard Operating Procedures to all Team Members.
- Act as a liaison for medical staff, security, and United Center Management Staff.
- Scheduling.
- Conduct pre-game inspections of the building.
- Assemble reports from Event Security, First Aid, Standard Parking, and any event-related documentation.
- Prevent safety hazards.
- Document thoroughly any incident requiring first aid.
- Participate in the utilization of various Recognition Programs.
- Assist in the planning and monitoring of departmental strategic goals.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
