At the Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board, we provide financial leadership, analysis, and policy support that helps strengthen Nova Scotia. As stewards of the province’s financial affairs, we deliver a broad range of corporate fiscal and management services. Our eight Financial Advisory Services (FAS) units work directly with departments, Crown corporations, and other public service entities, providing support in budgeting, forecasting, and program-related financial advice. We are continuously seeking new and innovative ways to improve how we plan, manage, budget, and invest. As the Coordinator/Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Advisor Services, you will be responsible for leading and managing financial advisory services staff in the functions of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial consulting services for the client department(s). You will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of accurate and timely financial information as needed, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts and other financial planning advice and analysis. You will manage the monthly and annual accounting procedures and the annual audit process. You will monitor and evaluate financial processes and transactions for compliance with the Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and other relevant CPA Canada standards and requirements. You will also provide financial support and advice to clients through various projects and other assignments. As the Coordinator/Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Advisory Services, you will report to the Manager, Financial Advisory Services.
