About The Position

Requirements

• 4–5 years of relevant professional experience in program management, youth development, education, arts education, or community-based programming
• Experience supervising staff, educators, Teaching Artists, facilitators, or mentors, including coaching, observation, and performance feedback
• Strong background in education and/or youth programming, with experience supporting participant engagement and high-quality learning environments
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or partner-based programs with many moving parts, timelines, and stakeholders
• Proficient in Google Apps [Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Hangouts and Mail] and experience with tools such as Zoom and Salesforce or similar CRM/database systems
• Experience and passion for inclusion and working effectively with a diverse group of people, including experience working with BIPOC communities
• Strong administrative, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details
• Experience with program documentation, reporting, and data tracking

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise ~25 part-time Teaching Artists during the 2026–2027 school year, maintaining strong communication, instructional quality, student engagement, and partner relationships
• Conduct formal and informal observations, coaching conversations, and debriefs with Teaching Artists and relevant partners
• Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of additional Teaching Artists as needed
• Manage the Program Coordinator, providing guidance across program operations, observations, participant experience, outreach, curriculum support, and reporting
• Maintain a strong understanding of Teaching Artists’ skills, experience, and availability in order to thoughtfully align staff with school and community partners
• Facilitate Teaching Artist University professional development sessions and share relevant external learning opportunities to strengthen instructional practice and pedagogy
• Oversee the planning and execution of approximately 25–30 citywide workshops annually, including scheduling, staffing, partner coordination, contracting, and implementation
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to ensure participants receive engaging, well-supported programming and access to supplemental experiences such as career exploration, continuing opportunities, field trips, guest speakers, production support, and annual showcase events
• Oversee key workshop milestones, including launch events and final screenings, ensuring smooth execution of logistics, student badge certificates, accommodations, and survey distribution
• Ensure program equipment and materials are purchased, allocated, maintained, and accurately tracked across workshops
• Maintain and update curriculum resource libraries used by Teaching Artists to support high-quality and consistent program delivery
• Help steward strong relationships with school, community, and workshop partners by ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and high-quality program execution
• Oversee program outreach and promotional materials, including the internal Teaching Artist Bulletin, social media content, and the external RWiS newsletter, in collaboration with the Program Coordinator
• Support the coordination of workshop observations, guest speakers, field trips, and other enrichment opportunities that deepen participant engagement and partner satisfaction
• Create and complete internal and external reports on program performance, including OKRs, KPIs, strategic planning documents, administrative evaluations, Teaching Artist assessments, student survey findings, and board reports
• Track workshop budgets and expenses in partnership with the Director of Programs, including materials, equipment, guest speaker invoicing, and Teaching Artist payroll.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership on earned income and grant-funded program planning, implementation, and reporting
• Support program-specific grant planning and execution in partnership with the Development Team and CEO
• Contribute to external relations and intergovernmental outreach in collaboration with organizational leadership and external partners as needed
