About The Position

Requirements

• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• One (1) year work experience in Civil Engineering at the professional level (beyond such licensure)
• One (1) year experience demonstrating progressively responsible duties in program or project management and/or management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and directing all Contracts Section activities including Construction Contract Advertisement and Award, Contractor Payment Processing, Documentation Review, Contractor Prequalification, and Systems Administration.
• Consulting and advising Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers, Project Managers, Regional Engineers, Superintendents, the Bureau of Planning, the Civil Rights Office, the Legal Office, and the M&O Contract Office, on deficiencies concerning bids, plans and contract books and recommend corrective action.
• Hiring and developing the human resources necessary to meet these expectations and needs.
• Attending meetings with Program Managers as a member of the Bureau Management team.
• Chairing the Quality Using Innovative Contracting (QUIC) Team.
• Maintaining the Department of Transportation Standard Specification book, the Department of Transportation Standard Detail book, Supplemental Repair Specification, and Special Provisions.
