About The Position

The Service & Supply Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all kitchen production and dock logistics functions. This role ensures efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, optimized inventory management, and strong cross‑departmental coordination. The manager is responsible for developing systems that support long‑term operational excellence, resource stewardship, and high‑quality service delivery across kitchen, warehouse, and logistics teams.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in food service operations, warehouse/dock management, or related fields.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Experience with inventory management, supply chain coordination, or logistics.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license (with good driving record) and proof of insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification.
  • Experience with inventory or production tracking systems.
  • Background in high‑volume food production, distribution, or nonprofit service environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen workflow across kitchen and dock operations.
  • Establish performance metrics, monitor outcomes, and adjust processes to meet organizational goals.
  • Lead long‑term planning for equipment, staffing, production capacity, and infrastructure needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data, feedback, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure alignment between kitchen, warehouse, and logistics functions to support seamless service delivery.
  • Develop relationships with other non-profits to ensure stewardship of our resources and community partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, OSHA, USDA, and local health regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance systems to maintain consistency, safety, and accuracy in production and inventory handling.
  • Lead internal and external inspections; develop corrective action plans and ensure timely follow‑through.
  • Oversee inventory flow, storage systems, and documentation to maintain accurate, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Develop and refine receiving, staging, and distribution processes to support timely and accurate movement of goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with purchasing to forecast needs and prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with vendors, transportation partners, and local nonprofits to support material assistance and resource optimization.
  • Analyze waste, spoilage, and shrink trends; implement strategies to reduce loss.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop kitchen and dock staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure all employees and volunteers receive training on safety procedures, operational standards, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace safety, sanitation, and facility organization.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance planning and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Ensure safe traffic flow and dock operations through clear procedures and staff training.
  • Support organizational initiatives and cross‑functional projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as needed to advance operational excellence and organizational mission.
