About The Position

InClover Research is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead day-to-day operations and the company’s next stage of growth as the founder’s Integrator. The COO will lead the team, revenue, finances and operations, using the company’s Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to set priorities, track results and maintain accountability. This leader will own the P&L and help scale a healthy, resilient business using established systems, the company’s mission and its co-manufacturing partnerships. The COO will lead and develop five direct reports spanning procurement and operations, marketing, sales and office management, across Boulder and remote locations. In partnership with the CEO and functional leaders, the role will support predictable sales growth across retail, distribution and ecommerce; manage financial planning and reporting; strengthen processes, records and contracts; and help manufacturing partners maintain quality and efficiency as volume grows. InClover Research is a woman-owned company based in Boulder, Colorado. Since 1996, it has made science-based supplements formulated for the physiology of dogs and cats. Its products are sold throughout North America and Asia, and the company has received a Top Impact Award in Sustainability. Its mission is to elevate the health and happiness of pets and the people who love them.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of CPG experience, ideally including leadership at an emerging or growth-stage brand.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to drive cross-functional decision-making.
  • A builder’s track record creating systems, teams and growth, rather than only managing an established operation.
  • Systems-thinking ability to drive financial efficiencies and build stronger NOI.
  • Experience partnering with a founder or Visionary.
  • Willingness to work from the Boulder office.
  • Curious and strategic approach, with the ability to translate big ideas into clear plans and deliver speed and follow-through while maintaining warmth.
  • Leadership approach that combines driving and coaching, uses logic and data in decision-making, and supports a kind, inclusive and mission-driven culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Operations or finance leadership experience.
  • EOS experience, especially as an Integrator.
  • Multi-channel CPG exposure across specialty retail, distributors, Amazon and DTC.

Responsibilities

  • Run the EOS rhythm, including weekly L10 meetings, the Scorecard, quarterly Rocks and the Accountability Chart.
  • Lead and develop five direct reports across procurement and operations, marketing, sales and office management, building a faster and more accountable team.
  • Support sales and marketing leaders in building a predictable sales pipeline across independent and multi-unit pet retail, distributors and ecommerce.
  • Work with the CEO to shape pricing, trade spend and channel strategy.
  • Own the P&L, annual budget and cash flow, and lead financial reporting with the fractional controller.
  • Strengthen financial records, processes and contracts to institutional standards so the business can operate without depending on the founder day to day.
  • Work closely with Operations leadership to ensure manufacturing partners maintain quality and efficient processes as volume grows.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $150,000 to $175,000.
  • Annual bonus of up to 20% of base salary, tied to company performance targets.
  • Equity-style award that lets the employee share in the value they help build; details shared with finalists.
  • Health insurance and generous PTO.
  • Pet-friendly office on a 22-acre Boulder campus.
  • A mission-driven, collaborative culture with sustainability and community programs.
