About The Position

Requirements

• For the Patient Care Technician role, a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• For the Certified Medical Assistant role, a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• For the Certified Medical Assistant role, basic computer skills are required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for the Certified Medical Assistant role, with certification from an accepted AHA-recognized or American Red Cross program.
• For the Patient Care Technician role, BLS is required within two weeks of hire and must thereafter be maintained through an accepted AHA-recognized or American Red Cross program.
• The Certified Medical Assistant must hold certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, or MedCA as a CCMA, CMA, or NAHP credential, as specified in the posting.
• Annual competencies must be maintained.
• Ability to understand and implement detailed instructions in therapeutic procedures and make accurate physical observations of patients.
• Considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Ability to understand and implement detailed instructions in complex therapeutic procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities and meet the described physical requirements, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

• For the Patient Care Technician role, one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility is preferred.
• For the Patient Care Technician role, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic certification is preferred.
• For the Patient Care Technician role, a bachelor's degree or enrollment in a healthcare-related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution, or equivalent training, is preferred.
• For the Certified Medical Assistant role, completion of an accredited medical assisting program and one year of patient care experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a patient-centered approach to patient care and help achieve desired outcomes under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Participate in clinic workflows that may include patient triage, in-clinic procedures, assessments, patient education, medication administration, CVC line care, obtaining EKGs, and care coordination.
• Work alongside providers and multidisciplinary clinic colleagues to support patient visits and care.
