About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant at Mercy Council Bluffs Psych Associates Clinic, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care and support patients’ well-being and recovery. You will provide individualized care, make critical assessments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes. The role requires strong assessment and critical-thinking skills and a patient-first approach.

The position also offers a $4,800 sign-on bonus and $8,000 in education assistance (loan forgiveness) to new hires who meet eligibility requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
• Current, valid nationally recognized medical assistant certification, registration, or recognition (AAMA/CMA, RMA, or NCMA).
• Successful completion of a Medication Aide 40-hour course or current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care according to established clinic workflows.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires, and documenting reasons for the visit.
• Collect and prepare ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepare and provide ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
