About The Position

Requirements

• At least 6 months-1 year experience in direct care of individuals with developmental disabilities (such as Autism, Down's syndrome, etc.).
• Must have some experience working with severe behavioral challenges such as verbal and physical aggression, running away, and so on.
• Behavioral de-escalation skills.
• Knowledge of client rights and advocacy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be able to pass applicable criminal and driver history background checks and a pre-employment physical and TB test.
• Valid CA Driver's license.
• Must have driver history of at least one year as a licensed driver (in any US state).
• All positions require working at least one weekend shift (some schedules include both weekend days) on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

• DSP Year 1 and DSP Year 2 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in a group home setting with their personal hygiene.
• Support individuals who can have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
• Help participants be part of the community and enjoy their favorite activities.
• Support participants with developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.

Benefits

• Starting range is currently at $18.10/hour up to $20/hour (pay rate determined by which group home location you work in), plus annual increases
