About The Position

The Behavioral Technician, internally titled Community Living Instructor BHCC, provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis at a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). Under the supervision of the Triage Clinician Lead, the role helps maintain safety, supports daily needs, and fosters an environment where individuals feel supported and valued. The schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of psychiatric, nursing, or emergency room work experience preferred.
• Remain calm and compassionate when supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and team members.
• Take pride in creating a safe, clean, and supportive care environment.
• Value teamwork and collaboration.
• Be committed to helping others feel seen, heard, and supported.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to individuals during a crisis and help ensure their daily needs are met.
• Monitor safety and engage with individuals to create a supportive environment.
• Participate in medication administration following L1MA training.
• Share observations and feedback with the treatment team to enhance care.
• Help keep the BHCC environment organized, clean, and welcoming.
• Mentor new staff and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
