About The Position

Valley Hospital Phoenix is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join its behavioral health team. The BHT is an active and integral part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling. The position works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

This is a per diem, as-needed position requiring a minimum of one 12-hour shift per week. The job is located at 3550 East Pinchot Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, plus a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling four years.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Successful completion of SAMA, including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor each patient’s location in accordance with the Observation Policy and Procedure.
• Use sound judgment during assessment and observe and document changes in a patient’s appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
• Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
• Comply with established policies and procedures to maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
