About The Position
Diamond Grove Center Hospital provides psychiatric services in Louisville, Mississippi. Its 85-bed facility offers individualized treatment programming for children and adolescents. The Mental Health Specialist is a member of the treatment team and carries out assigned duties, including patient observation rounds, suicide-risk observations, and assistance with treatment programs. The role supports high-quality, cost-effective health care consistent with Universal Health Services’ mission, vision, and values and applicable government regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Background in a behavioral science field or equivalent documented experience.
- Hospital aide or treatment assistant experience.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Help create an environment and culture focused on fulfilling the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Assist education staff, the charge nurse, and the Program Director with overall management of the milieu.
- Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with others in day-to-day work situations.
- Conduct patient observation rounds and suicide-risk observations as assigned.
- Assist with treatment programs.
