The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who works in conjunction with the Nurse Manager, aspiring to develop leadership and management skills through experience and mentoring. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, serving as a mentor to others while learning management responsibilities. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the Nurse Manager to foster a center of excellence for staff recruitment, retention, and clinical/business outcomes. They uphold the Nurse Manager's direction, lead daily activities, participate in performance reviews, and provide coaching and counseling. This leader assists the Nurse Manager in achieving clinical and financial goals, managing resources, and plays a key role in staff recruitment, mentoring, and retention. They model teamwork and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments, adhering to the Professional Practice Model, 5 Star Nursing, the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, and ANA standards.
