About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN) to lead and oversee operations within a Behavioral Health unit in an acute care hospital setting. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, staff leadership, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager will work closely with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and departmental performance. This position carries 24/7 accountability for unit operations and staff performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Florida RN license or Compact RN license
  • BLS certification (must obtain within 30 days if not current)
  • ACLS certification (must obtain within 30 days if not current)
  • CPI – Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification (required within 90 days of start)
  • Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care hospital
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting, including roles such as: Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of inpatient psychiatric clinical experience
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience as: Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, Supervisor or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health unit
  • Manage staffing schedules and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure achievement of quality, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Support effective patient care delivery and unit performance
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Behavioral Health staff
  • Participate in: Hiring, Performance evaluations, Disciplinary actions
  • Foster collaboration with hospital leadership, physicians, and care teams
  • Promote a culture of safe, patient-centered care
  • Support staff engagement, development, and retention
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Monitor and improve departmental quality metrics
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and clinical excellence
