Assistant Nurse Manager - CT Stepdown
About The Position
Main Line Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Cardiothoracic ICU and Cardiothoracic Stepdown at Lankenau Medical Center. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership for an interdisciplinary team in a 32-bed unit and works alongside the Nurse Manager to support safe, high-quality patient care for cardiothoracic ICU and stepdown patients. The role includes providing ongoing feedback to staff, promoting and participating in departmental goals, coordinating staffing needs and schedules, and collaborating with the Nurse Manager and team members to interview and select staff. The position also offers opportunities to participate in nursing committees, evidence-based research projects, and staff precepting, with ongoing professional feedback and career development.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN or another related bachelor's degree required.
- PA RN license or a multistate license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
- Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Nice To Haves
- Three to five years of recent ICU nursing experience.
- Cardiothoracic nursing experience.
- Prior charge nurse experience or other leadership experience.
- MSN or another related master's degree.
- Certification in a specialty area.
Responsibilities
- Help lead the interdisciplinary team in the 32-bed unit.
- Work with the Nurse Manager to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Provide ongoing feedback to staff.
- Promote and participate in departmental goals.
- Coordinate staffing needs and schedules.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other team members to interview and select staff.
- Participate in hospital-wide and system-wide Nursing Committees and evidence-based research projects.
- Precept new staff.
