Query Engineer

Golden AnalyticsBellevue, WA

About The Position

As a Query Engineer at Golden Analytics, you’ll build and own our connections to the world - files, databases, cloud services, data lakes - we will go to where our customer’s data resides. You’ll help us build connectors and query systems that balance expressiveness and speed, pushing to help our customers get more from their data. This isn't a role where you hand off specs and wait for feedback. You’ll talk to customers about their data issues, propose and build solutions, and get them out to customers quickly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working on the internals of data products with strong development experience at the data layer - SQL, cloud-based database systems, data lakes, data interchange formats and techniques. You have built these layers, not just used them as a data engineer.
  • Full stack development experience and integration with cloud-deployed customer-facing applications - Vite, Node, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Vercel, Supabase (and more as we grow)
  • Experience building with AI/ML technologies (LLMs, vector databases, coding agents, etc.)
  • Track record of shipping rich data-focused products
  • Product thinking and customer orientation
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration

Nice To Haves

  • AI Zealots: You don't just use AI tools, you geek out over them. You’re all over coding agents and modern dev environments. You strive to learn, and encode that learning in ways today’s development systems can use. You have shipped AI-enabled solutions and have guided coding agents to help you move faster. You know the limits of this tech, but push it to help you do more.
  • Customer Obsessed: There's no barrier between you and our users. You have strong product sense and think like a founder. You understand that the best code is the code that delivers the most customer value, but that you can reliably maintain. You're comfortable jumping on customer calls, gathering feedback, and translating that directly into what you build.
  • Velocity Driven: You move fast. You learn fast. You ship fast. You understand that velocity is a feature. You're comfortable with iteration, learning from failures, and pivoting quickly. Perfect is the enemy of shipped. You write scalable code that you can stand behind, but you know when to optimize for delivery speed versus perfection.
  • Passionate Builders: You love what you do. There's fire in your belly for building something meaningful. You want to stand with pride next to what you build every day. You want to be on a mission and be part of something that transforms how people work with data.
