Staff Analytics Engineer, GTM

Scribe•San Francisco, CA
•$200,000 - $250,000

About The Position

Scribe is hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer to serve as its first dedicated data hire for the go-to-market organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Data, this hands-on builder will design and build foundational data models that define how Scribe measures pipeline, bookings, revenue, and customer growth, and establish standards for future GTM analytics work. The role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and RevOps to answer critical business questions and create durable, self-serve data products that help the company scale its enterprise motion and guide leadership investment decisions. The role also involves establishing GTM data practices through reproducible work, documentation, data quality standards, and self-serve tooling. As the team grows, the hire will have the opportunity to mentor and help shape analysts and analytics engineers, setting technical standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or analytics, including significant work with Sales, Marketing, or Finance data at a SaaS company.
  • Experience building data models from the ground up and designing them for clarity, scale, and trust.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Sigma, Mixpanel, and Looker, with expert SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Fluency in GTM and revenue data, including CRM, marketing, and billing systems, and concepts such as pipeline, bookings, ACV/ARR, funnel conversion, and attribution.
  • Ability to understand how sellers, marketers, and finance partners work and communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to take hands-on ownership across data modeling and ad hoc analysis.
  • Proactive, high-output approach to surfacing insights and data for teams.
  • Focus on business outcomes and judgment about when to build a durable model versus using quick analysis to support action.
  • Experience building technical and semantic infrastructure for internal natural language agents and agentic automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at high-paced Enterprise SaaS startups, especially during a transition from self-serve to enterprise sales.
  • Experience mentoring analysts or analytics engineers, or serving as a data-team tech lead.
  • Experience creating a step-function improvement in a GTM team’s effectiveness using AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Build foundational GTM data models from first principles, initially for Sales and then across Marketing and Finance, with consistent definitions for pipeline, bookings, ARR, and conversion.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into actionable metrics, partnering with GTM and finance leaders to define KPIs, dashboards, and analyses.
  • Build trusted relationships with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams and serve as a resource for GTM data questions, deep-dive analysis, and technical guidance.
  • Establish GTM data culture through reproducible work, documentation, data quality standards, and self-serve tooling.
  • Mentor and help grow the team as GTM analytics scales, setting technical standards and best practices.

  • Equity ownership.
  • 401(k) plan through Vestwell.
