Chief Engineer Sign-on Bonus Potential

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, Inc. (BIA)•MD - Annapolis Junction, MD
•$190,000 - $240,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Chief Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) provides technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of components of complex hardware and software systems. The role includes requirements elicitation and analysis, functional allocation, systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, defining system architectures, and conducting technical and non-technical assessments and end-to-end flow analysis. The Chief Engineer develops comprehensive service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions and architecture views using applicable Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) standards. The role applies current agency, national, and international standards; uses validated models, simulations, and prototypes to reduce development risk and cost; and monitors and manages program and system risks, including through Earned Value Management (EVM) data. The position develops system design alternatives and trade analyses that account for lifecycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, expansion, and growth. It defines hardware and software interfaces, applies standards to promote consistency and interoperability, improves integration strategies, and oversees configuration review and control of system hardware, software, and documentation. The Chief Engineer also participates in Configuration Control Board activities and Analysis of Alternatives efforts. This position is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Telework and remote work are currently not authorized. The listed pay range is $190,000–$240,000, and eligible, qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

  • Twenty years of experience as a systems engineer in medium-scale (20–100 people) or larger programs or contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; five additional years of systems engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Expertise with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools.
  • Expertise with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar SysML tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership in deriving an understanding of stakeholder needs and essential system functions from system requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • INCOSE ASEP or similar systems engineering certification.
  • Experience developing technical documentation.
  • Experience developing system architecture and system design documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Innovate RF signal processing applications.
