About The Position

The School of Education at Alliant University offers a variety of degrees, certificates, and credentials in education that prepare students to make a lasting impact through teaching, counseling, leadership, advocacy, administration, management, and community work. Whether a student looking for an online degree program or an in-person learning experience, Alliant will be there to guide them every step of the way. The student’s path into the classroom — either online or on-ground — is one paved with comprehensive academic excellence through: California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification of many of our world-class education programs, Multiple degree options, including credentials and CSOE certifications, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees, many of which offer specialized emphases. Hands-on training facilitated by extensive practicum opportunities. Multiculturalism interwoven throughout the curriculum and rooted in our university culture; offering an educational experience rich with diversity and inclusion. Our specialty is helping students transform experience into expertise, and expertise into leadership. Every one of our California Education Degree Programs is designed to ensure that the real-world needs of learners and the latest research central to the curriculum in our online, hybrid, and on-campus courses. We currently offer the following degree programs: Single-Subject Teachers, Multiple-Subject Teachers, Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, School Counselors, Educational Leaders and Managers, California Teachers of English Learners (CTEL) and Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Certification. We also offer Certificates in Elementary and Secondary school teaching as issued in the State of Arizona. Applicants to this position will be considered for a candidate pool encompassing one or more of the subject areas outlined in the job description. This pool will be used to identify qualified candidates for potential appointments during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Requirements

  • Master’s, Doctoral or other terminal degree from an accredited college or university, depending upon the needs of the course being taught.
  • A minimum of three years relevant experience teaching in TK-12 or transition classrooms in the area(s) and/or field(s) of specialization.
  • Valid credential or License, in the field of teacher education; preference for CA credentials in multiple subject, single subject and/or education specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Classroom and Distance/Distributed Learning.
  • Course and syllabus preparation.
  • Facilitating an asynchronous online CANVAS classroom.
  • Delivery of course curriculum according to the syllabus via Canvas.
  • Interacting with the District Employed Supervisors (DES) to ensure candidates meet clinical practice requirements.
  • Utilizing rubrics for assessment and measurement of candidate learning outcomes
  • Submitting grades, including final grades according to academic policies and procedures.
  • Mentoring and supporting of students.
  • Engagement in continuous improvement efforts (professional development/reflection).
  • Holding weekly office hours and meeting with students.
  • Attend adjunct faculty meetings during contracted term.
