About The Position

The Department of Psychology & Communication at Texas A&M International University is establishing a pool of qualified applicants for future part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Psychology. Depending on student demand, successful applicants may teach up to six semester credit hours in the discipline, hold office hours, and assist students as needed. The role requires face-to-face interaction and regular attendance on campus.

Appointments are temporary, assigned per semester on an as-needed basis, and are for the Spring 2027 semester and/or Spring 2027 sub-terms and beyond. Assignments are made in accordance with teaching effectiveness and timeliness. Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent on verification of credentials and other information required by University procedures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the public.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an academic environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Nice To Haves

• An earned doctorate in Psychology.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Prior relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to six semester credit hours in Psychology, as dictated by student demand.
• Hold office hours and assist students as needed.
• Teach subject matter effectively and in alignment with program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes.
• Promptly meet semester timelines, including completing University training courses, submitting syllabi, and posting grades.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.
