About The Position
Gordon Food Service Store, the retail division of Gordon Food Service, is hiring a Van Delivery Driver for its store in Mason, Ohio. The driver provides courteous, accurate, and on-time deliveries of products to Wholesale customers on a variable daily route, operating the van professionally and safely. The role also includes assisting with store operations before or after completing the route. The position combines delivery work with in-store duties, including picking orders, supporting customers, processing purchases, securing assets, and receiving and merchandising products. The position pays $18 per hour. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the company is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter. Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Unrestricted standard operator's license.
- Clean driving record, with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last five years.
- Successfully pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
- Able to use a two-wheel cart carrying a load of up to 350 pounds.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous delivery driving experience.
- One year of customer service experience or experience in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Accurately locate and pick in-store orders for Wholesale customers.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
- Deliver Gordon Food Service products accurately and on time.
- Operate the van professionally and safely, demonstrating attention to detail and safe work habits.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
- Assist with store operations before or after completing the delivery route.
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently through the point of sale.
- Protect cash, checks, merchandise, and other assets by following policies and procedures.
- Receive and merchandise products accurately, ensuring proper rotation and product quality.
- Execute end-cap and planogram requirements and maintain top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom organization.
