About The Position

Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle or university recruiting experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute recruiting strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Proficiency in using recruiting metrics and data to inform decisions and improve processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a willingness to work cross-functionally to achieve Sierra’s goals.
  • Relationships with career centers, student orgs, faculty, and ambassadors.
  • Experience in planning and executing campus engagement strategies, across universities through targeted events and partnerships.

  • Ability and willingness to travel during peak recruiting cycles and work flexible hours as needed
  • An interest in building from the ground up: launching intern programs, designing early talent hiring process

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment processes, from sourcing and screening to closing and onboarding, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience.
  • Identify and engage with passive candidates through various channels, including online platforms, networking events, and industry connections, to build a strong, diverse talent pipeline.
  • Drive initiatives to ensure diverse hiring practices and build a team reflective of our values and culture.
  • Utilize metrics and analytics to track recruiting performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize processes to achieve hiring targets, reporting regularly to hiring partners.
  • Develop and execute our campus recruiting strategy, building relationships with universities and student communities, and representing Sierra on campus through recruiting events, career fairs, and other programs that build awareness and attract exceptional early-career talent.
  • Help build and run Sierra’s internship and early-career programs, from campus recruiting and events to creating a high-quality intern experience that engages, develops, and converts exceptional early talent.
