About The Position

Requirements

• Experience tutoring Reading/ELA and/or Math in upper elementary grades (4th–5th) is required.
• Availability to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday is required.
• Non-licensed tutors must have an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education, or at least two years of study at an accredited institution (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Licensed tutors must have proper credentials recognized by the State of California as a properly licensed teacher.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Have an unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching certification (not required).
• Bilingual skills (not required).
• Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods determined by the Company.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate and conference with parents about student progress.
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing using Company-designed materials and educational strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Supervise students, including escorting them safely to and from sessions.
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company and applicable local, state, or federal agencies.
• Attend and document meetings and training with Company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
