About The Position
The Program Manager - Pediatric Trauma partners with hospital and departmental leaders to ensure trauma patients receive safe, timely, high-quality care. The role guides Trauma Program operations and outcomes, aligning clinical practice, data, and processes with local, state, and national standards for Trauma Center designation. As the operational lead for program initiatives, the Program Manager supports verification readiness, strengthens system performance, and advances trauma services. The position coordinates and evaluates program operations, monitors outcomes and performance, oversees trauma data and registry processes, leads performance improvement activities, collaborates across the care continuum, provides trauma education, and represents the program in professional organizations and initiatives.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and evaluate Trauma Program operations, monitoring outcomes and performance to maintain excellence and meet designation requirements.
- Develop and oversee reliable processes for trauma data collection, coding, scoring, validation, and registry management to support the PIPS plan.
- Collaborate and consult with clinicians, nursing leadership, educators, and patients across the continuum to promote consistency, communication, and high-quality care.
- Lead and perform PIPS activities, including event identification, opportunities for improvement, action planning, and loop closure to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Provide and coordinate trauma education, training materials, and resources for hospital staff, EMS providers, and community partners.
- Represent the Trauma Program through active participation in local, state, and national trauma organizations, committees, and professional initiatives.
