Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current TNCC certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Evidence of clinical expertise in the practice of trauma nursing
  • Expert knowledge of trauma systems, case management, quality improvement
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories
  • Computer database experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be self-directed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Previous experience with Trauma Accreditation Process (ACS, OHS) preferred
  • Previous experience with Quality Improvement Process preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing an integral role in case management of patients admitted to the Trauma Service
  • Evaluating trauma care of trauma patients
  • Identifying issues related to trauma care
  • Responding to trauma codes while in house
  • Coordinating quality improvement activities with the Trauma Pl coordinator and Trauma Program Manager
  • Participating in trauma education
  • Assisting the Trauma Program Manager with the Trauma Accreditation process
