Requirements
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current TNCC certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Evidence of clinical expertise in the practice of trauma nursing
- Expert knowledge of trauma systems, case management, quality improvement
- Knowledge of adult learning theories
- Computer database experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to be self-directed
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Previous experience with Trauma Accreditation Process (ACS, OHS) preferred
- Previous experience with Quality Improvement Process preferred
Responsibilities
- Performing an integral role in case management of patients admitted to the Trauma Service
- Evaluating trauma care of trauma patients
- Identifying issues related to trauma care
- Responding to trauma codes while in house
- Coordinating quality improvement activities with the Trauma Pl coordinator and Trauma Program Manager
- Participating in trauma education
- Assisting the Trauma Program Manager with the Trauma Accreditation process
