About The Position

Requirements

• Teach a minimum of 15–20 hours weekly, subject to seasonal variation.
• Create a regular onsite work schedule and, when off-site, be available on call for emergencies or arrange another point person.
• Be able to frequently stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit; regularly lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to work frequently outdoors in varying weather conditions and in a moderate noise level.

Responsibilities

• Administer and enforce facility and corporate policies and procedures, and adhere to the Director’s Guide and Employee Handbook.
• Plan, develop, and grow tennis programs for all levels, including lessons, adult and junior clinics, special events, leagues, Cardio Tennis, and Tennis 101.
• Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Market the tennis facilities to members and guests and provide courteous, prompt, and professional attention to their tennis needs.
• Promote the safety of members, guests, and employees by following safety guidelines.
• Establish and implement an inventory control system and report results.
• Ensure revenue is properly recorded in the POS system and reconciled daily to the schedule; secure checks and deposit them weekly.
• Provide tennis lessons and clinics covering techniques and strategies.
• Ensure courts are maintained in the best possible playing condition and inspect and maintain physical areas and equipment for cleanliness, condition, and safety.
• Conduct weekly professional staff meetings.
• Write and edit tennis- and racquet-sports-related content for the facility newsletter and website.
• Develop budgets and take appropriate action to meet budget goals.
• Develop an annual calendar of tennis and racquet sports activities and coordinate applicable promotional campaigns with Corporate Marketing.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Facility General Manager/Owner and non-tennis and racquet sports facility staff, and attend facility management meetings.
• Provide monthly reports as required by Corporate Operations.
• Ensure employees comply with company and facility employee manuals and applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Maintain an accurate membership database and ensure payroll entries are correct for all staff.
• Accurately record all on-court programming.
• Maintain strong knowledge of tennis merchandise to inform consumers.
• Know the facility POS system and train others to use it.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
