About The Position

USTA PNW is seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join their team as RecTennis Instructors and Site Directors at local parks and schools. Requirements

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check.
  • Must complete the USTA Safe Sport online education course.
  • Eligibility to be SafePlay approved and remain SafePlay approved through tenure at USTA PNW.
  • Must register within ADP Workforce Now (payroll platform).
  • Authorization to work within the United States.
  • Must sign the USTA PNW Offer Letter, Employee Handbook, and all required policies and procedures.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential job functions as described with reasonable accommodations given.
  • Operate general tennis equipment, such as a racquet, balls, ball-hoppers, gym bags of supplies, clipboard, pop-up tennis net, pen.
  • Occasionally move products and supplies, up to 30 pounds.
  • Talk, speak or hear.
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Carry out repetitive motions regularly such as tossing and motions holding a tennis racquet.
  • Respond to sounds and visual cues.
  • Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions.
  • Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction.
  • Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants.

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors.
  • To act as a Site Director the employee must be 18+ years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching tennis is preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred.
  • Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model.
  • Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, partners, and community organizers.
  • Implement program curriculum and provide on-going instruction and expertise at program sites.
  • Ensure equipment set-up and take down for each session, verifying all equipment is in safe condition.
  • Store or transport equipment as necessary, potentially using personal vehicles if no secure on-site storage is available.
  • Check attendance roll for each session and obtain parent sign-off at the conclusion of each session.
  • Stay at the site until all participants have been picked up by authorized personnel.
  • Perform marketing tasks as needed, such as hanging flyers and working at marketing events.
  • Represent and support USTA PNW facilities and NetGeneration products and services.
  • Follow and implement all USTA PNW procedures and protocols.
  • Lead the day-to-day flow and direct Instructors (for Site Directors).
  • Oversee and direct Instructors and work directly with the Regional Manager to problem-solve and communicate issues and feedback (for Site Directors).
