About The Position

The Yellow Ball Director is passionate about helping junior players grow in a family friendly environment. This role drives player development focusing on skill-building, competitive performance, and long-term success within the program. They work with players as a mentor and leader, guiding them through their competitive pathway and staying hands-on in their development to help each player reach their full potential. They lead and manage the yellow ball racquets staff, fostering a strong team environment built on collaboration and shared purpose. They build strong, trusted relationships with players and their parents to support a positive culture. The director will have an admin to support day-to-day program operations and relationships.

Requirements

20 hours per week for Director/administrative work. This includes on-court observation/participation of the various programs the Director is responsible for. There is not a limitation of teaching hours as long as the 20 hours a week of Director/administrative work is completed.

Responsibilities

Lead and instruct all Junior Yellow Ball Clinics: Junior Tournament Training, Tournament Training Academy, Varsity Clinic, Player Development and Fast Track Tennis.
Create curriculum for all junior tennis programs that fall outside of the Red Orange Green program. Communicate this to the racquets staff and the parents. Implement clearly and consistently.
Lead special events that pertain to all Junior Yellow Ball and any other group assigned by the Director of Tennis.
Work with front desk to manage utility usage-lights and heat.
Assist with facility and court maintenance responsibilities.
Play in all pro-am events and exhibitions.
Know all lesson cancellation policies so club or pro does not lose income.
Develop a team that values relationships with juniors and parents.
Increase the yearly net income of Yellow ball, Junior Tournament Training, Tournament Training Academy, Varsity Clinic, Player Development and Fast Track Tennis programs.
Work with the Tennis Director to set short, medium, and long-term benchmarks for all Junior Yellow Ball clinics.
Oversee Junior Yellow Ball operations including recruitment, registration coordination with the administrative manager, attendance tracking, promotion, staff scheduling, drop-in charges, and refunds.
Make final approval of placement for participants in Yellow ball with your 3-coach panel for Junior Tournament Training, Tournament Training Academy, Varsity Clinic, Player Development and Fast Track Tennis.
Coordinate with your coaches and with the parents a tournament schedule for each participant of the program (all levels). Keep track of the schedules and make sure players are being trained with their tournament schedules in mind.
Coordinate sending coaches to tournaments.
Coordinate signups for all players in Yellow ball, Junior Tournament Training, Tournament Training Academy, Varsity Clinic, Player Development and Fast Track Tennis about match play and set up the matches to keep them coming on a regular basis.
Communicate to all players in Yellow ball, Junior Tournament Training, Tournament Training Academy, Varsity Clinic, Player Development and Fast Track Tennis about special events, new sessions, make-ups, program cancellations and moving of courts.
Be at least one month ahead of all promotion with pamphlets, flyers, and brochures for programming. Work with Racquets Director to have this completed on time.
Assist in participation for all website updates, newsletters, and articles for high performance participants.
Create, promote and carry out monthly junior events (team play, cardio, 105).
Maintain photo bulletin board with tournament winners and social media posts with admin assistance.
Design and execute a robust offsite TTA Camp at Thayer Academy.
Goal setting and follow through with high performance students and their parents.
Evaluations for each player twice per year with parent follow up.
Hold parent welcome meeting at the start of the year that includes educating parents on USTA, UTR, etc.
Host banquet at conclusion of the program.
Post program follow up calls to parents.
Work with the TFA Director to make sure all camp license requirements are met for the off-site and on-site HP camps.
Adhere to the Pro Standard Agreement and embody Weymouth Club core values at all times.
Attend and be on time for regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development days.
Be consistent with the times you have given to the Tennis Director for being at your desk for administration and face time.
Return all emails and phone calls within 24 hours.
Write and submit weekly reports for General Manager, Director of Racquet Sports and Club Owner by 5 pm every Monday.
Maintain accurate payroll hours.
Accept and complete any special assignments from the Tennis Director.
Attend yearly performance reviews.
Work with the ROG director to identify future high performance players.
Design and Operate From A Yellow Ball & Camp Playbook: Content examples of a playbook would be annual calendar with important dates , parent meetings, special events, ranking standards, marketing/packaging, pro trainings for quality control, registration bags, pricing strategies, transitional plan indoor to outdoor, etc.
