About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or Early Childhood Education
• NJ Teacher of the Handicapped Certification or Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience working with children
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Patient, caring, and committed to helping students thrive
• Collaborative team players with strong communication skills
• Skilled at creating structured, engaging, and inclusive learning environments
• Flexible, dependable, and passionate about special education

Nice To Haves

• K through 6th grade certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans aligned with student IEPs
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral strategies
• Train classroom assistants to provide one-to-one support
• Attend annual reviews and team meetings
• Utilize appropriate curricula and teaching materials
• Help students ages 3-21 develop essential life and vocational skills that support greater independence and successful transitions into adulthood
• Collaborate with local organizations and resources to help students achieve their vocational and transitional goals
