About The Position

Requirements

• Strong content knowledge across high school mathematics disciplines (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and/or Calculus)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with students, families, and colleagues
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a professional learning community
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth-oriented mindset
• A minimum of 1-3 years of teaching high school mathematics (or applicable practicum experience)
• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics and/or a related field
• Ability to work effectively with a diversity of learning styles and learners
• Open to and willing to embrace a student-centered digital learning model that incorporates education technology tools, open education resources, and varied instructional strategies
• Embody the Catholic principles and Xaverian values that guide our institution to help foster a supportive and inclusive campus environment

Responsibilities

• Teach five (5) classes for grades 9 through 12 mathematics
• Complete a proctoring “duty” period per rotation during each semester
• Engage every student in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum
• Contribute to the school community beyond the classroom, with opportunities to support student life through activities, events, or programs aligned with individual interests and school needs
• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving
• Differentiate instruction to support a range of learners and learning styles
• Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and provide meaningful feedback
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and intellectual risk-taking
• Support students’ social-emotional development alongside academic growth
