About The Position
The Early Head Start Teacher creates a nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. The role focuses on fostering curiosity, building school readiness, and empowering families to support children’s success. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, 12-month union position located in Marshall, Minnesota.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and solid organizational skills.
- Ability to lead and collaborate as part of a team.
- Knowledge of child development and willingness to apply best practices.
- Problem-solving ability and composure when handling challenges.
- A CDA or associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field as defined by the Office of Head Start.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging classroom activities.
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate records.
- Partner with parents to encourage active family participation.
- Ensure an inclusive classroom for children with disabilities.
- Incorporate health and nutrition activities.
- Assist with recruitment efforts to connect more families with the Head Start program.
