About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time elementary teacher to provide personalized, one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. Teachers tailor instruction to each student's needs and learning style and use a gradual-release approach to help students build mastery, confidence, and academic success. The role does not include lesson planning, parent conferences, or extensive grading, allowing teachers to focus on instruction. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students who learn in different ways.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing a subject with students.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; it is not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
