About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time elementary teacher to provide personalized, one-to-one instruction to students. The academy serves students in grades 1–12 and promotes a nurturing, student-centered learning environment. Teachers tailor instruction to students’ individual needs and learning styles and use a gradual-release approach to help students build confidence and achieve mastery. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not part of the role, allowing teachers to focus on instruction. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject area, such as English, Social Studies, History, Government, or Economics.
- Patience and empathy, with a commitment to supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching and sharing a subject with the next generation.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Orton-Gillingham training.
- Teaching certification; noted as preferred but not required.
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise.
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience.
