About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support young learners in early education and preschool classrooms. The position offers flexibility and may involve working in different centers and with various age groups. Substitute Teachers provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and other services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance, applicable laws and regulations, and requirements for children’s safety. The role requires in-person work in the Burbank, California area, with possible coverage in other classrooms or nearby locations.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Complete twelve semester units in Child Development, including Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community, Curriculum, and Principles and Practices.
- Pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Provide transcripts at the time of interview.
- Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying children, participating in classroom activities, responding to emergencies, and maintaining alertness and energy.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
- Communicate with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom by following required procedures and guidelines.
- Provide teaching coverage in any classroom or age group where needed across a center or nearby locations.
- Provide supervision, care, and curriculum delivery in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidance and applicable laws and regulations.
