About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support young learners in an early education and preschool child care center in the Redmond, Washington area. The role offers flexibility and may involve working in different centers and with various age groups. The employee will provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services according to Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance, while complying with applicable laws and regulations and ensuring children’s safety. Work is performed in person. Candidates must pass required state and company background checks and meet applicable minimum education and experience requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass required state and company background checks.
• Must meet applicable state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
• Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry, or hold weights over 40 pounds.
• Must demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
• Must maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
• A CDA or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
• Maintain open communication with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
