About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring an on-call Substitute Teacher to support early education and preschool classrooms. The role offers flexibility and may involve working in different centers and with various age groups. Substitute Teachers provide in-person supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and related services according to Bright Horizons policies and applicable laws and regulations. The position requires in-person work in the Issaquah, Washington area.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
• Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
• Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds; occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
• Demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness and energy needed to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
• A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
• Maintain open communication with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean by following required procedures and guidelines.
• Provide classroom and age-group coverage wherever needed across a center or nearby locations.
• Provide supervision, care, and curriculum delivery in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance.
