Full Time JrK Teacher at The Tobin School
About The Position
The Tobin School is seeking a full-time Jr Kindergarten Teacher for its JrKindergarten classroom, beginning in late August 2026. The teacher will work collaboratively with another full-time teacher, daytime support teachers, and an afternoon assistant to support up to 16 children per day. The classroom operates from 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. The role supports parent communication, child supervision, curriculum planning, child assessment, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols, EEC licensing regulations, and NAEYC Accreditation Criteria. The position is year-round, including summer work in the Summer at Tobin Jr program for children preparing for JrK and Kindergarten in the fall. Full-time positions are 40 hours per week, with eight-hour shifts and a paid half-hour break. The schedule is flexible, with mostly 9:45 a.m.–5:45 p.m. shifts. The Tobin School offers early childhood programs for PS, PreK, and JrK at its Natick campus. Its facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, outdoor play areas, an indoor gross motor space, and a dedicated STEAM room. The school describes its curriculum as developmentally appropriate, with opportunities for creativity and teacher input, and provides indoor and outdoor activities, active play, quiet times, and small- and large-group experiences.
Requirements
- EEC Preschool Teacher certification.
- Some early childhood teaching experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan creative, engaging curriculum.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, mostly 9:45 a.m.–5:45 p.m. shifts.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in early childhood education or a related field is highly valued.
- Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
