About The Position

This role involves performing the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft. The engineer will support the development of concepts, design approach, and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier. Key activities include performing/reviewing analysis to evaluate concept feasibility, developing and validating technical requirements, reviewing/preparing test procedures and reports for certification, and resolving in-service aircraft issues through troubleshooting and root cause determination. The position also requires ensuring compliance with the ARP4754 development process, supporting trade-off studies, and ensuring the design aligns with customer requirements and standards. Occasional travel to supplier facilities, regulatory authorities, and the final assembly line is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in aerospace related field.
  • Directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
  • Good understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, avionics, autoflight).
  • Knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
  • Fluent in both English and French.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Organized.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of flight controls electrical and hydraulic actuators.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment.
  • Familiarity with other simulation environments such as ADAMS.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as CATIA.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good knowledge of Requirements Management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft.
  • Support the development of concepts, design approach and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier.
  • Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility.
  • Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the Flight Control System.
  • Review/Prepare technical requirements.
  • Review/Prepare test procedures.
  • Execute test rig and/or aircraft testing.
  • Review/Prepare test reports in support of certification activities.
  • Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
  • Troubleshooting, root cause determination, corrective action definition and execution.
  • Ensure compliance to the ARP4754 development process.
  • Support trade off studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
  • Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Customer requirements and standards.
  • Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as on-site support to the Final Assembly Line.
