About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to develop platform server embedded firmware for GPU server platforms. The role focuses on microcontroller firmware, including ARM M-class microcontrollers, and C/C++ server manageability software in an RTOS-optimized embedded environment. The engineer will bring up, debug, and analyze firmware; develop management software that enables reporting and connectivity among server management devices; and implement register-based communication and DMTF messaging protocols across components such as BMCs, GPUs, switches, memory, I/O expanders, sensors, and local microcontroller peripherals. The position also involves designing a portable microcontroller framework for server management subsystems, developing performance-optimized active-monitoring BMC solutions using DMTF standards, and collaborating with security and hardware teams on security goals and hardware architecture. The engineer will contribute to code and design reviews, testing, automation, coverage, and software quality reporting. The role requires at least five years of low-level embedded microcontroller firmware experience and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. The role offers a base salary range of $152,000–$241,500 for Level 3 and $184,000–$287,500 for Level 4, depending on location, experience, and comparable employee pay. Equity and benefits are also offered. Applications will be accepted at least until October 30, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
