About The Position

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens (CCBQ) is seeking Fee for Service Licensed Social Workers for its Jamaica, Corona, and Rockaway Behavioral Health Clinics. CCBQ has been providing quality social services for 125 years, offering over 160 programs and services. The clinics are community-based and provide a professional and welcoming environment, offering psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological therapy, individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, case management, and collateral sessions. The agency emphasizes wellness, recovery, trauma-informed care, and physical-behavioral health integration. The Fee for Service Licensed Social Worker will work under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor, providing direct service to clients in outpatient mental health programs. Services must be delivered professionally and ethically, adhering to best practices. The role involves functioning as part of a treatment team, maintaining service levels, participating in agency meetings, and complying with all agency policies and procedures. Responsibilities include initial interviews, crisis intervention, ongoing therapy, and ensuring client needs are met through internal and external referrals. The position requires adherence to contract compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory requirements. Documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, intake assessments, and correspondence, must meet agency standards and be submitted within 24 hours of sessions for reimbursement. Treatment coordination is a required task included in the face-to-face rate. Ancillary services like treatment plan revisions and documentation submission are integral to service provision and not reimbursed beyond the session rate.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Valid NYS LMSW required.
  • Must obtain NPI prior to start date.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licensure/certifications for which employee is educationally and professionally eligible in NY State.
  • Excellent Time Management, organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations.
  • Be flexible.
  • Have excellent oral & written communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish or Creole speaking preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial interview, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapy with individuals, groups, and families.
  • Adhere to all standards of contract compliance, audit readiness, Agency policies and procedures, and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Meet Agency requirements for qualitative and quantitative documentation, including writing progress notes, treatment plans, intake assessments, correspondence regarding clients, termination summaries, encounter forms, and any other required documentation.
  • Ensure that referrals are made to appropriate internal and external services as required to meet the needs of the consumer and their families.
  • Respond to all referrals in a timely and professional manner and follow-up on referrals made on behalf of a consumer/family.
  • Conduct individual, family, marital, and group therapy as dictated by the client’s clinical needs.
  • Monitor and coordinate psychiatrist psychopharmacology appointments.
  • Coordinate physical, medical, and psychological needs for clients.
  • Complete and submit all documentation required for Agency reimbursement for services within 24 hours of session in a thorough, complete, accurate, and timely fashion.
  • Maintain all applicable standards of audit readiness.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision.
  • Participate, as needed, in Agency response to serious incidents.
  • Participate in meetings with supervisor and other staff trainings, planning, and evaluation of individual work and agency functioning.
  • Engage in supervision with a consultant LCSW towards clinical licensure.
  • Attend up to 21 hours of CEU training.
