About The Position
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant – School-Based provides direct therapy services to UCP of Central Florida students in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. The position follows the school calendar and is part of a multidisciplinary therapy team serving students with and without disabilities at UCP charter schools. The assistant helps ensure students on their caseload receive a high-quality therapy program that supports their abilities. The position reports to the school principal at each campus where services are provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- Active Speech Language Pathology Assistant license from the State of Florida.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience preferred with a pediatric population in an interdisciplinary setting; new graduates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and implement appropriate and effective therapy sessions and interventions based on students’ needs.
- Assist the speech language pathologist in establishing goals.
- Meet productivity expectations and ensure students on the caseload receive services according to the frequency and duration specified in their IEPs.
- Collaborate with education staff to incorporate students’ therapy goals into classroom activities.
- Participate in meetings as assigned.
- Identify and pursue appropriate equipment based on students’ needs.
- Report accountability data according to UCP guidelines.
- Complete and submit accurate documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
