About The Position

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a certified Respiratory Therapist.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at the time of hire.
• General certifications: NRP and BLS/BCLS.
• Respiratory certifications: RRT and CRT.
• Flu vaccine required.
• Knowledge of respiratory care modalities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Ability to use mechanical ventilators skillfully and provide alternative solutions.
• Skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and accurate interpretation of arterial blood gases.
• Ability to work independently and under adverse conditions, including exposure to communicable infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the assessment, administration, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing, extubations, airway management, and ventilatory life support for critical adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain, interpret, and evaluate pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases.
• Instruct patients in the use of respiratory therapy equipment, inhalation gases, and other therapies for respiratory diseases and wellness.
• Clean, care for, and maintain equipment used in respiratory treatments and pulmonary function testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
