About The Position

Completes timely assessments including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions based on nursing diagnoses according to patients' actual or potential health conditions or needs. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Assesses and interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population. Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education by the due date. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care. Verifies orders and facilitates implementation, communicating with physicians as needed, and performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training. Participates in quality and performance improvement activities, accurately documenting and monitoring activities as needed. Learns and upgrades skills, utilizing knowledge to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Other duties as assigned. Produces accurately written, promptly completed medical records for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of ECG training and arrhythmia interpretation
  • Knowledge of Cardiovascular anatomy
  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy
  • Knowledge of Hemodynamic Monitoring
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • Ability to monitor patient blood pressure, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry using sophisticated clinical equipment
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
  • Associate's of Nursing
