About The Position

Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Psych Emergency Services. Registered nurses treat patients; educate them about mental and medical conditions; and provide advice and emotional support to patients and family members. They run therapeutic groups, provide psychiatric crisis intervention, and perform seclusion and restraint of patients. Nurses also record medical histories and symptoms, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They teach patients and families to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
